it's not my fault
in our minds,
we own our secrets.
we control how we disperse them.
we control how they affect our lives.
secrets are simply
figments of speech.
but in reality,
secrets are our dictators.
we crumble
under their strength
and under the possible
repercussions.
we obey our secrets
without question.
when do we learn
to lie?
when do we learn
to conceal our secrets?
does it begin
in the womb?
are we born into the world
lying?
before anyone's had a chance
to expose us
to all of the darkness?
we own our secrets.
we control how we disperse them.
we control how they affect our lives.
secrets are simply
figments of speech.
but in reality,
secrets are our dictators.
we crumble
under their strength
and under the possible
repercussions.
we obey our secrets
without question.
when do we learn
to lie?
when do we learn
to conceal our secrets?
does it begin
in the womb?
are we born into the world
lying?
before anyone's had a chance
to expose us
to all of the darkness?
